On Friday night, the Carterville Lions went on the road to take on the Harrisburg Bulldogs in their first game since finishing second in the 60th annual Eldorado holiday tournament.
Bulldogs came into the game with a 9-0 record on the season and a 1-0 record in conference play. Carterville entered the game 7-5with an 0-1record in SIRR conference play.
The Bulldogs jumped on the Carterville Lions early leading 11-4 at the end of the first quarter. They had a 14 point lead at the half of 29-15. They maintained their lead at the end of the third 35-29. Carterville was not able to overtake the Bulldogs as Harrisburg wins 49-44.
Jalon Ellis led the Bulldogs in scoring as he finished with 17 points on the night to lead all scorers.
Parker Poole was the leading scorer for the Carterville Lions. He finished with 12 points.
