I seem to say this every year, but it's hard to believe Christmas is just next week.
The Carterville Lions are preparing to wrap up their pre-Christmas schedule this weekend as they play at home on Friday night hosting Goreville and on the road at Nashville on Saturday night.
This past week, the Lions went 1-1 with their record now 4-2 overall.
On Tuesday night, the Lions beat the Vienna Eagles 49-45 in the first home game of the season. Colton Hawkins had a breakout game scoring wise as he finished the game with twenty three points to lead all scorers.

The Lions were home on Satuday night as well, as they played host to the Herrin Tigers for the first SIRR Conference game of the season.
The Lions had an eight point lead at halftime, 31-23, however they were outscored 19-8 in the third quarter and trialed at the end of three 42-39. The Tigers helad the lead throughout the fourth quarter on their way to a 56-49 win.

The Lions will be home on Friday night as they host the Goreville Blackcats. Goreville comes into the game 6-1 overall wins over NCOE, Harrisburg, Anna-Jonesboro, Hardin County, Zeigler-Royalton, and Joppa-Maple Grove.
The Lions have wins this year over Waterloo Gibault, Red Bud, Trico, and Vienna.
